Mantra Monday

If guys ever wonder what goes on inside a girl's brain, they can compare it to having hundreds of tabs open in Safari. Some days I find myself with more 'tabs open' than others but there's always a lot going on up in there. Over time I've realized that having so much on my mind at once is hardly beneficial; you need to process things one by one. Sometimes we can't help it though. If I'm ever watching TV, I'm also on my laptop and on my phone simultaneously. Or I panic about all the work I have to do rather than taking it one at a time. Our brains need time to rest and retain all the information it accumulates over the day and you will find that with less on your mind, the more rested you will become. You can keep the tabs open in your browser but try to clear your mind every once in awhile.

Kickin' It Old School

On days where I really don't feel like putting effort into getting dressed, I'll usually wear leggings. But leggings get old after awhile and you begin to give off a laziness vibe. Insert leather leggings here; the perfect solution to give a casual outfit a little something extra. Don't ask me why, but this outfit makes me feel like a modern day character from the movie Grease. Something about the leather bottoms and high tops I suppose; like the outfit love child from when Danny turned into a "athlete" to win Sandy back while Sandy changed from her good-girl persona into a leather bodysuit to win him back; now all I need is my leather jacket. Grease may have taken place in the 50's, but the looks continue to be timeless. 

And if you've never seen Grease, I highly recommend you watch it.

Hello Spring

The beginning of Spring brings mixed emotions. The first obviously being happy that it's finally warm out. The second being excited that we are one season closer to summer; and the third being stressed, because the start of Spring is also the time for midterms. I've been a little preoccupied in being a good student and studying, but I promise for more posts to come soon. 

Until then, break out the pastels and pack up those chunky knits and heavy coats.

I'm not so sure that I believe in luck; but rather in the idea that everything happens for a reason.

Red Hot in the Cold

Coat: Dolce Vita, Sneakers: Nike, Leggings: Dolce Vita, Gloves: Urban Outfitters

I'm not a fan of wearing color, but if I had to choose, red would be my go to. My room was once the color of the building behind me and the gloves on my hands. This past Sunday I got an arrow tattoo on my arm, followed by a frozen yogurt date and trip to a puppy store with my friends. On days like Sunday when I really have no desire to change out of my pajamas, leather leggings and Nike Frees can go a long way; especially when your plans involve a lot of walking. And when you're like myself and your outfits typically consist of all black, red fingerless gloves can both keep your hands warm and look cute.

Mantra Monday

Life has no guarantees. One day can be great while the next might be shitty. Life drags us back sometimes. We all experience difficulties; whether it be in school, in work, with friends or with family. As much as we wish that life did not hold us back with such difficulties, they are necessary. The lows make us appreciate the highs in our lives. An arrow can only be shot by dragging it backwards. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means it is about to launch you into to something great so focus and keep aiming.

Shades of Grey

Today's inspiration comes from the miserable weather we've been having. The grey skies and extremely low temperatures leave me frozen and unmotivated. I love wearing lots of layers and being cozy and warm, but I've had enough of winter. I'm ready to blog about shorts and sandals; but for now I'll stay bundled up in this array of grey.
